Split Second Charades
Posted by joan under Teaching
To maximize the class’ free time during training, I usually facilitate ice breakers or games. I will be sharing one game with you, it is something I derived from the Guestures game.
The Split Second Charades’ objective is to score most points by guessing acted-out words.
Players: Will be playing in groups. Each player in a team acts out 4 words while his or her teammates try to guess them. Teams will have alternate turns.
Steps: Act out the words written on the card starting from easy (1 point) to hard (4 points). Do not skip any words. Remember the other teams cannot guess or else the point will be counted as the guessing team’s point.
How to gesture:
- No sounds allowed.
- Props or visual aids are allowed (parts of the body, people in the room, objects in the room).
- Mouthing words is permissible only if the word is not being acted out. For example, you may mouth “help” while acting the word “drowning”.
Scoring: Simply add up the corresponding points for the words acted out.
