Removal of Garter

Joanna: I know some of you guys are getting tired already. It has been a long day but for the last time we will need your cooperation. Will everyone please stand. This is the last, we promise. Everyone on your feet. No exceptions.

Now may I request our principal sponsors and the parents of our bride and groom to please be seated. Now married couples, and when we say married couples it means with contracts, please be seated. Only those with marriage contracts and rings as proofs could sit down. For the rest of you guys who are standing, and yes we know who you are please join us here in from for our bouquet and garter games.

So now we call on the single ladies and all the bachelors to come in front. Bride and Groom, please help us call them here. Thank you.

Now, Ivy, please have a seat  and  Anthony please kneel in front. Anthony, it is now time to get your wife’s garter, but there is a catch, you have to get it underneath the big skirt. Pulling the garter using only, I repeat, only your teeth. One, two, three! Bite off only the garter!

Let’s give Anthony a big hand!

XVI. Garter Ceremony (choose one, props to come from the couple)

Big Garter, Small Garter

Bachelors would form a circle. They guys located at opposite directions would be handed each a garter. The big garter (2 yards) would be worn once from head to toe while the small garter (1 yard) would be worn twice from head to toe before passing to the left. The bachelor caught with both garters wins the game.

Rico: Our gentlemen, please take the center stage and form a circle. Now turn around, facing outward. Very good. Gentlemen do not worry, we won’t be doing the traditional garter tossing today, because we all know that if the groom tosses the garter, no one will be willing to catch it. So instead we will play the Big Garter, Small Garter game.

(Ask the name of one player and hand out the big garter) What is your name? Okay _____ please hold on to this for me. And right about here we have (Ask the name of another player and hand out the small garter) ____. _____ I want you to let this garter pass through your head and body and remove it through your feet. And ______ do it one more time. Then pass it to your left _____. (Talking to the guy to the left) Hold on to it for a minute.

(Go to the first player with the big garter) Now, _____ I want you to do the exact same thing but just wear the garter once, just once. Then pass it to your left.  Could we return the garters back to ______ and ______.

(Facing the audience) Now that’s the mechanics of our Big Garter, Small Garter game. The small garter will be worn twice from head to toe and then will be passed to the left. And the big garter shall be worn once then shall be passed to the left. Now the guy with both garters will be the lucky bachelor for today. So guys we hope you’re ready. We will start the game on three. One, two, three, and go!

(With the winner) And the lucky bachelor is, _____. I just need to know would your pockets have any contents? Are any of these ladies your related to you by blood? At the count of incest, you may sit down.

XVII. Bouquet Ceremony

Trip to the Altar

The blindfolded bachelor would be seated on a chair encircled by the single ladies. In time with the music, the ladies are to move around their circle clockwise. Once the music stops, whoever wants to be out would have to sit on the bachelor’s lap.

Joanna: Bachelor, please have a seat. We will cover ____’s eyes with a table napkin. While we request the girls to form a circle around ______.  Ladies and gentlemen, we won’t be doing the traditional tossing. Instead we will play another game called Trip To The Altar.

How does this work? Girls in time with the music you will have to go around ____ clockwise… that would be to the right. Once the music stops, DJ, please listen. Once the music stops, whoever wants to be out would have to sit on ______’s lap.

(Talking to the bachelor)  _____ hands behind the chair. And if I were you I’d close my legs.

(Talking to the ladies) Again ladies, whoever wants to be out would have to sit on _____’s lap. Once you’re able to sit on his lap, you may go back to your seat.

A word of warning, ladies no pushing.

Ready DJ, music please in one, two, three, and go!

(Last 2 ladies left) And now for the moment of truth. May we request the ladies to stand on each side of the stage. When the music stops go and do your thing. One, two, three, go!

Ladies and gentlemen, our winner, a big hand please.

XVIII. Wearing of the Garter

The emcee has a surprise in store for the bouquet and garter winners.

Rico: Okay, ____ this is ____.

(Talking to the girl bachelorette ) Girl sit down.

(To the bride) Ivy it is time to give our lucky lady the bouquet.

(To the groom) And Anthony it is time to endorse the garter to our lucky bachelor.

(To the bachelor) Guy, what are you going to do. You will have to go down on one knee and slowly raise the garter on to the bachelorette’s lap. You are not going to stop unless the guests say stop. So if they say higher, you go higher. So down on your knee. Pass the heel.

(To the crowd) Ladies and gentlemen, is that high enough for you? Is that high enough for you? Is that high enough for you? Let’s give them a big hand.

Joanna: (To the winners) Before you take your seats, one last picture. Here are the prizes. Thank you very much. You may go back to your seats now.

XIX. Newlywed’s Acknowledgements

Joanna: And now let us hear from the bride and groom.

  1. This is your opportunity to thank your respective families, sponsors and friends.
  2. Both bride and groom should speak.
