I was supposed to dress up as a butterfly but I realized, at my age, I’m too old to wear wings and an antennae. Rico, my fiancee who happens to be a Star Wars fanatic, suggested that I  dress up as Padme Amidala.

Coming up with a costume wasn’t at all hard. I just wore a long sleeved white blouse and a pair of white pants. I had a makeshift white cape, a pair of metallic armbands made out of aluminum foil and cardboard, and a holster belt that I made myself. For the holster belt, I used an old belt, katcha, and cardboard. I made small cardboard pockets, wrapped them and the old belt with katcha, and then glued them together using a glue gun.

To make sure that people identify me as Padme Amidala instead of Princess Leia, a ghost, a while lady, etc., I covered my face with foundation and white powder, placed a red dot on each of my cheeks, and drew a small vertical red line across the middle of my lips.  To complete the costume, I brought a my fiancee’s light saber.
