It has wide grassy spaces - designed to accommodate children who likes to run, hop, and jump around. They have interactive outdoor displays and toys that they would surely enjoy playing with.

After some outdoor fun, you can take your kids to Krispy Kreme for a snack. Your kids can have a short tour on how donuts are prepared. Their crew usually give away free donuts, hats, and balloons!

After filling yourself with soft, sweet, warm, heavenly donuts, take a stroll heading Fully Booked. Fully Booked is, well, full of books! You can take your kids to their 2nd floor where they can freely go over children’s books and play toys. If your kids do not know how to read yet, no worries, read the stories to your kids out loud and unleash the story teller in you.

After Fully Booked, walk your kids across the street to Serendra and check out Marta’s Cupcakes. Upon entering Marta’s, you’re sure to be amazed seeing the colorful display of cakes, lollies, and other sweets. You and your kids can decorate your cupcakes and or cookies with colorful icing and candy sprinkles. A cookie kit, that contains 2 pieces of cookies, icing, and candy sprinkles, is only P80.00. A cupcake kit, which includes 2 cupcakes, icing, and candy sprinkles, is for P105.00.

Link building is important. Building links with other blogs, meta tagging, and increasing traffic are actually one of the Top 10 factors to getting your site positioned on Google. If you want your weblog to be visible in Google, these are some of the things you have to do. You might ask, ”Why should I do these?” The reason has everything to do with Google and the method it uses which ranks sites for its search engine. If your site has a high rank, there is a greater chance of your site landing in the first 5 pages of the search results.

A lot of my friends have started building their own weblogs. For more link building - and trafficing action… click the links below to check their weblogs.

I have learned a lot from my stay in Australia. Thanks to my friends, classmates, and teachers in Canberra, I was able to, somehow, understand the Australian way of speaking.

Let me share with you a brief history of what Australian English is. Australian English was developed during years of isolation from other english-speaking people. There are 3 types of Australians these days, we have the original Australians or the aboriginies, the old Australians, and new Australians or the people who migrated from other countries. Australian english is spoken by the great majority - old Australians, native born, locally educated, or the country’s citizens.

Australian English, Australian Slang, Aussie Slang, or Strine is a variation of the English language. Australians speak not like anybody who speaks English though. They can understand other forms of English but other English speaking people will have a hard time understanding them.

Australian English a flat accent. It has minor variations in idiom and tempo, so it only has little music in it. Speech is delivered through an almost closed mouth with a splurring of consonants and is delivered as rapidly as possible. At its worst, it uses a mumbled monotone that tends sentences to become slangy, idiomatic and brief. There are still Australians who are capable of communicating best with clearer, lengthier, and gramatically correct sentences.

During my Year 12 in Erindale College, Canberra, I researched about the different Australian speech. If my memory serves me right, the quantitative study I did was about knowing the most/least words and expressions used and understood by Australians, and if age has an effect in understanding and using Australian expressions and words. I learned that Australians, young and old, understand and have used some Australian words and expressions. As years go by, young Australians come up with new words, forgetting old Australian words and expressions.

The following are just some Australian words/expressions I came across with during my research:

RECKON - think
SHOUT - buy a drink for someone
ARVO - afternoon
BLOODY -very
BLOKE - man or guy
BOOZER - a pub
DRONGO - a dope, stupid person
ICKY - sticky; dizes situation where wrong decision could lead to disaster
IKEY - too thrifty
WOG - influenza or any allied disease
CHUNDER - vomit
BLUDGE - a bloke who ceases work temporarily; a copy cat
CLAYTON’S - fake, substitute, bluff
BUSH - the country
GARBO - municipal garbage collector
DAG - a funny person, nerd, goof
DODGER - bread, a clever person
CHOOK - chicken
IN LIKE FLYNN - to seize an opportunity with enthusiasm, especially a sexual one
DINGBAT - a weirdo, someone eccentric or deranged
RATBAG - mild insult
ROOBAR - bull bars; a strong metal bar at the front of vehicles to protect them against hitting kangaroos
BILLABONG - an oxbow river waterhole
COZZIE - swimming costume
YAKKER - work, tough job
TART -refers to any young and usually pretty woman
STUBBY - a 375 ml. beer bottle
RIPPER - great or fantastic
CUT THE BULL - stop talking rubbish
FAIR GO - a chance
SHOOT THROUGH - to leave
GOOD ON YOU - good for you, well done
NO WORRIES - no problem
G’DAY - good day
FAIR DINKUM - honest or true
I’LL GIVE IT A GO/ I’LL GIVE IT A BURL - I’ll do it
I’LL BE IN THAT/ I’M FOR THAT - I’m pretty keen to do that
DON’T COME RAW PRAWN WITH ME - to bullshit or to be generally disagreeable

It’s Thursday, extemporaneous speech day! The topic raised in class was “If I were a boy/girl…”. Let me share you my thoughts.

If I were a boy…
I would be everything my ex-boyfriend was not.

I would call my girlfriend everyday, and let her talk as much as she wants to.
I would even attend workshops with her, read the books that she read, and learn all her interests and hobbies so we would never run out of things to talk about.
I would never run out of jokes to share to her.
I would let her share her thoughts and feelings, and will also be as open to her.
I would give her more importance than watching tv, playing computer games, and going out with the guys.I would occasionally send her flowers, and send care packages when I am away.
I would give her shopping money and shop with her even if she will take hours.
I would not let her wait for me for hours.
I would encourage and support her in the things she wants to do.
I would even do her projects and fetch her in school and work almost everyday.
I would clean her room, her car, wash her dishes, and do the laundry for her everyday.
She would never hear me complain.
I would always tell her she’s pretty.
I would always tell her I love her and will hug her everytime I see her.
I would love her family and love her daughter like they’re my own.
And even if I don’t tell her, I’d make sure she’d still feel I love her.

Come to think of it… if I were a boy, I would be just like my boyfriend.

—-

What about you? How would you be if you were a boy/girl?

*tear* *tear*

Some of you might ask what is a PR1? *Nose bleed *
PR1 stands for PageRank 1.

PageRank is an algorithm method that assigns a numeric value weighting to each quality hyperlink of documents with measuring its relative importance within. The algorithm collect all entities with reciprocal link (link in and out from that website) and one-way link (link in from any website). The numeric value assigns to give the pagerank of that page - PR(E).

A pagerank can be from 0-10. For example, a pagerank of 0.5 means there is a 50% chance that a person clicking on link will be directed to the document with the 0.5 PageRank.

If your website has a PR10, it only means that your website is VERY VERY VERY important according to Google’s system. Every webmaster struggles to get the traffic just to get this ranking. Good examples of websites with a PR10 are:

http://www.adobe.com

http://www.google.com

http://www.whitehouse.gov

If you want to know your website’s PageRank, try the tool below!
